Snow College Alumni Rhett Long and Gary and Janet Carlston were presented with Distinguished Alumni awards during the school’s Homecoming celebrations on Saturday, October 14, 2023.
Rhett Long, class of 1978, studied engineering and architectural drafting at “The Tech”, which is now known as Snow College’s Richfield campus. Rhett spent his career managing hotels, ski resorts, multi-million-dollar casinos, internet companies, and two newspapers. Now retired, Rhett loves spending time with his family and putting 100% of his efforts toward giving back.
Gary and Janet Carlston met while attending Snow in 1969. They both served as student leaders and cherished the relationships they developed with professors, classmates, and peers. Gary and Janet are educators at heart and each had distinguished careers with many accolades. 45 years after attending Snow as students, they returned to lead the college and served with the same “Spirit of Snow” that they enjoyed as students. Now in their second retirement, the Carlstons enjoy spending time with their greatest accomplishment—their family.
