Snow College Announces the Death of Student Athlete

July 18, 2024 - Ephraim, UT — Snow College is deeply saddened to announce the death of a member of our men’s wrestling team. Luke Peltier, a sophomore from Palmer, Alaska, was traveling eastbound on I-70 near milepost 28. On a section of the highway that gradually veers right, the vehicle crossed into the median and crashed. “Snow College athletics mourns this tragic loss. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends. We are so sorry,” Rob Nielson, Snow College Athletic Director said.

Staff in the Athletics Department were notified of the accident in the early hours of Thursday morning. Snow College President Stacee McIff expressed her sympathy upon hearing the news. “We are heartbroken to learn of this tragic accident; the Snow College family is grieving the loss of one of our own. We offer Luke’s family, friends, teammates, and coaches our comfort and support during this very difficult time.”

Snow College sends its condolences to the Peltier family and anyone else affected by this tragic news. We cherish all of our students and join in mourning the loss of our friend, Luke.
