Snow enters agreements with both Southern Utah University and Weber State University
July 9, 2024–EPHRAIM, UT – Snow College is pleased to announce that students who complete the Exercise Science program now have two additional transfer options. While all associate degrees transfer to any four-year institution, these agreements offer Exercise Science graduates guaranteed acceptance into their major program and ensures that they will be on-track to complete their bachelor’s or master’s degrees in a timely manner.
The agreement with Southern Utah University (SUU) is a 2+2 Exercise Science degree. In their first two years of school, students will complete their associate degree at Snow as well as the required coursework in the Exercise Science program. Upon completion, they will be automatically admitted to the Exercise Science program at SUU, where they will be on track to complete their bachelor’s degree in just two more years.
The agreement with Weber State University offers a higher degree. It is a 2+1+2 Master’s of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) degree. Students interested in this program will begin their coursework at Snow College, completing an associate degree and all the required courses for the Athletic Training pathway, typically taking two years. This pathway includes all the required coursework to enter into the MSAT program at Weber State, where students will take one year of courses before using their senior year to take courses that contribute to both undergraduate and graduate work. The master’s degree takes two years to earn, at which point Weber State will back credit the senior year, and the student will graduate with their bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Science and their master’s degree in Athletic Training simultaneously.
Spencer Mack, who leads the Exercise Science program at Snow College, is excited about these new partnerships. He said, “The agreements that Snow College is entering into with our four-year partners are unique. Being able to transfer straight into SUU's Exercise Science Program sets our students up for a myriad of possibilities that exist with a degree in Exercise Science. The Weber State agreement is likely the only one of its kind in the country. Allowing students interested in Athletic Training to have a clear pathway from a two-year school all the way through a master's degree is novel. My hope is that we will not only be able to recruit students to Snow College with these new opportunities, but that it also helps us strengthen our relationships with our four-year partners in their endeavor to grant students terminal degrees more efficiently. We want to thank our partners at Southern Utah University and Weber State University for their willingness to make these opportunities a reality."
