Twenty students were recognized at the annual event
December 14, 2023 – RICHFIELD, UT – Snow College proudly recognized the accomplishments of its latest nursing graduates in the annual Nursing Pinning Ceremony, held in the Sevier Valley Center in Richfield on December 11, 2023.
The ceremony included an address from graduate James Christensen of Moroni, Utah, who also received the Academic Excellence award. Brooke Schlappi and Kaylee Funk were each recognized at the event with the Clinical Excellence award.
The focal point of the evening was the symbolic pinning; a tradition that signifies the graduates transition from student to professional. Each graduate selected a nurse mentor from the community or faculty to do the honor of pinning them. The distinctive pin represents their successful completion of the nursing program as well as their commitment to compassionate care.
Nursing Program Director Amber Epling expressed her pride in this year’s graduates, who were the first to go through the new, more academically challenging program. She said, “Speaking for the whole department, we have really enjoyed this group of students. They have worked hard to be successful in their classes. We are excited for them and are looking forward to watching them obtain their goals in nursing. We wish them all the best.”
