Snow Hosts Latinos in Action Conference

1,700 students from across Utah were in attendance

May 6, 2025 – Ephraim, UT – Snow College was pleased to host the 2025 Latinos in Action conference, bringing together 1,700 Latino students from across Utah. This year’s theme, Progress not Perfection, reminded students of their talent and ability to reach their goals.

The Latinos in Action (LIA) organization, founded in Provo, Utah in 2001, empowers youth to lead and strengthen their communities through education, service, and leadership. The LIA model has helped increase graduation rates and college enrollment for Latino students across the country.

LIA founder Jose Enriquez greeted college and community leaders before the students arrived. Mr. Enriquez talked about the mission of the organization and shared his philosophy on leadership, saying, “True leadership doesn’t come from those to who seek a position, but those who position themselves to help those who seek.”

Attendees heard from several speakers, including the keynote speech by actor Annie Gonzalez. Students also participated in breakout sessions focused on college readiness, leadership development, and civic engagement, and enjoyed performances reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the Latino community.

Snow College Vice President for Student Affairs Cody Branch said, “We were truly inspired by the Latinos in Action program today. Their strong commitment to empowering youth through education, service, and leadership closely aligns with the values of Snow College. It’s an honor to host their conference on our campus.”
