2+2 Education Model

Community Colleges (also called 2-Year Colleges) offer an easy, affordable way to start your university studies.

As one of the Top 10 Community Colleges in the USA, Snow College is a springboard for your future. You can earn credits with us and use them towards your Bachelor degree at any of our partner universities in the USA or elsewhere in the world.

This is commonly referred to as the 2 + 2 Education Model, and it creates a smooth path which leads you to earn both a 2-year Associate's degree and a 4-year Bachelor’s degree.

Years 1 + 2 = an Associate’s degree (60 credits)

Whether you choose to attend a university or community college, the first 2 years of what you study will be similar. You earn credits for classes in General Studies. This is a great time to:

• Improve your English and get comfortable in a new culture.
• Explore different fields of study to help you focus on a degree or career path.
• Save money by taking the same classes at a college that costs less.
• Benefit from a supportive, tightknit community.
• Make new friends and try different clubs, sports and activities.

• Transfer your 60 credits into a university of your choice.

Add 2 More Years = a Bachelor’s degree (180 credits)

In your final 2 years, you’ll take specialized classes in your concentrated area of study. This is a great time to:

• Live in a different part of the USA or finish university overseas.
• Take more in-depth classes related to your chosen career option.
• Gain work experience in your field through internships or part-time work.

Snow College has transfer agreements with dozens of universities in the USA and in several countries around the world, giving you unlimited options for your education.

 

Why pay over $40,000 when you can pay $14,500 for the same college credits?

In your two years at Snow College, you’ll be able to earn 60 credits which meets half the requirements for your Bachelor’s degree. And it will cost you less than one year at a large university!

That’s essentially 2 degrees for the price of 1!

This makes a US education more accessible. You’ll even have enough money left over to explore other cities or states in the USA during long weekends and college breaks, which is a great time to visit family members or University Open Days.

 

 

* Snow College guarantees that international students can receive a scholarship. The tuition without the scholarship is $19,500, but if students apply for the scholarship, they are guaranteed a $5,000 tuition discount per year, which means that international students pay only $14,500.

 

Twice the work experience when you attend Snow College

F-1 students are eligible for a total of 12 months of Optional Practical Training (OPT) per educational degree level (e.g. Associate’s, Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctorate).

Is gaining real-life work experience in the U.S.A. important for you?

If so, then get double the experience by attending a community college like Snow. International students can do OPT once after graduating from Snow College and again after graduating from their transfer institution. 

Double the OPT Example Scenario

• Attend Snow College for 2 years and earn your Associate’s Degree.
• Gain 12 months of full time OPT work experience.
• Attend a university for 2 years and earn your Bachelor’s Degree.
• Work for another 12 months on full time OPT in a new experience.
