Where is the Counseling and Wellness Center located? The Counseling and Wellness Center is located in Room 109 of the Social Science Building.
How much does it cost? It's FREE! to all Students. This includes all individual and group therapy sessions.
When is the Center open? The Counseling and Wellness Center is open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 4 pm.
Why should I come in?We at Snow College recognize that student life can be stressful. College students face many challenges in their lives that have the potential to affect their emotional, social, financial, academic and spiritual well-being. These challenges may include: difficulty problem solving, stress, adjusting to campus life, family issues, substance use, phobias, depression, anxiety and addictions, to name just a few.
Snow College wants each student to be successful. The counselors, staff, and student mentors are trained professionals that can help you manage and reduce the impact these challenges are having in your life.
What services does the Counseling and Wellness Center provide?
What is a student mentor? A student mentor is a current student at Snow College. The Mentor is trained to assist students with challenges they may be having. Student mentors can help you set goals, encourage you, accompany you to healthy activities, support and listen to you.
Will my parents know? Not unless you and your counselor feels it is appropriate. All services at the Counseling and Wellness Center are confidential within the ethical and legal professional regulations of the counselor.
Who provides the counseling? The Center has state licensed professional counselors that provide the counseling.
How long will I need to come to the Center? That depends. Your counselor will meet with you and assess your challenges. You will work together to come up with an appropriate timeframe for sessions. This timeframe can be adjusted as needed.
I am feeling scared and embarrassed about coming in, what do I do? This is very normal. Everyone has moments of stress and frustration. We all have challenges we are facing. This does not mean we are sick, broken or bad. It only means you want to work to be happy and successful in your life.
