Academics

During your semester abroad, you can take up to four courses in general studies or courses within one of your pre-designed majors, plus one extensive Spanish language course.

Classes are taught in Spanish or English. EUSA is particularly strong in four specialized bachelor programs and teaches a large variety of courses for:

Advertising and Public Relations;
Audiovisual Communication;
Journalism;
Tourism.

Snow students can take courses either from EUSA's four predesiged majors, or build their own custom program. This entails specialized training in the student’s field of study which could include company visits, extracurricular activities, masterclasses, meetings with experts, Spanish for special purposes, etc. EUSA faculty from various disciplines are available to collaborate and provide Snow students with a well rounded academic experience. Students with a strong command of the Spanish language may also be able to secure an internship abroad for a minimum of four weeks.

Important! Students must pass all coursework and complete a reflection project upon returning to the USA.

Application Process, Preparations and Deadlines

Application:

Exchange students who are going to study at EUSA must register via the online EUSA application form. To complete the form you will need to enter the registration code sent to you by email from EUSA’s International Office. You will also need to attach the following documents in PDF or JPG format along with your application:

A copy of your passport.
One passport size photo.
A copy of your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) or private/similar insurance for non-European students.

Eligibility:

Before acceptance to program, international students must:

Be currently enrolled in higher education studies with Snow College.
Be at least 18 years old by the time you go abroad.
Have completed all required application materials.

Requirements:

Students must apply and be selected for the semester.
Students are responsible for acquiring the necessary documents such as a passport and international travel and health insurance.

Tuition and Funding

All study abroad students applying to EUSA will need to pay a 300 Euro administrative fee to cover:

Application and credit certification.
On-campus student insurance.
Student card.
Certificate of enrollment.
Transcript of records.
Spanish language transcript of records and diploma.

Costs shown below are for five courses per semester, which equals 30 ECTS or 15 US credits.

Non-EU students: 3,600 Euros per semester.
EU students: 3,100 Euros per semester.

Beyond these costs, students should also budget for housing and any additional insurance such as international travel and liability.

Using financial aid and applying for a scholarship or grant:

Talk to your advisor to learn if you are able to apply your FAFSA funding for studying abroad.

The following services may be arranged upon request:

Airport transfers (arrival and departure).
City transportation card.
Visa support and documentation.

Housing and Life Abroad

There are several housing arrangements to choose from including dormitories, apartments and homestays. See EUSA’s housing guide for a comprehensive overview.

Student Dorms

Located around Seville, these accommodations are favorable for those who want to be surrounded by other students, have access to laundry facilities, private study rooms, a gym and pool, a meal plan, and cleaning services. Rooms included a bed, desk, lamp, chair and wardrobe. Wifi, water, and electricity are included.

Though they are not university owned, EUSA’s International Office is in close contact with local dorms and can assist students interested in this option. The dormitories go through a strict selection process and are evaluated regularly to be sure of a safe environment for beneficial student experiences.

EUSA works closely with Nido El Porvenir and Yugo Palm Studios.

Homestays

Living with a Spanish host family is favorable for those who want a high degree of cultural immersion, constant language practice, and interpersonal relationships. Students are provided with a room furnished with a bed, desk, lamp, chair, and wardrobe. Host families prepare two meals per day, weekly cleaning and laundry. Host families are carefully selected and evaluated regularly to be sure of a safe environment for beneficial student experiences.

For the fall semester, inquire before mid-June.
For the spring semester, inquire before mid-November.

Shared Apartments

EUSA does not provide or organize other living arrangements; external housing options exist for students to arrange independently if they wish. Water and electricity are not included. CaeDePie is an option for this type of accommodation.

The fourth-largest city in Spain, Seville is the capital of Andalusia and situated on the River Guadalquivir. Originally founded as a Roman city in 711, endless historical beauty awaits. From cathedrals to palaces, travelers don’t have to be interested in architecture to appreciate the glory that is Seville.

Home to the Sierra Nevada mountain range, sand beaches galore, and cuisine to dream about, this city is never short of entertainment for travelers and locals alike. Seville’s influence by Islamic rule in the Moorish period can be seen all over, especially in the architecture. It offers a historical perspective unique to Spain which stands apart from more popular study abroad locations such as Madrid and Barcelona. Its close proximity to both Africa and the rest of Europe makes destinations like Morocco and Portugal easy add-on trips.

Famous for its warm climate and relaxed pace of living, locals balance work and play with mid-day siestas and plenty of opportunities for celebration in town.
