Wifi Printing at Snow College for Employees

Ephraim Campus

In order to access secure network services such as printing or shared file services from a wireless device (i.e. laptop, tablet, phone, etc.), several preparatory steps are necessary.

Step 1:  Ensure you have Carbon black Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) software installed on your device

Step 2: Fillout the VPN request form.  You will receive configuration instructions in an email.

Step 3: Download the DUO app on your cell phone.

Step 4: Install the VPN client or ask the helpdesk to do it.  See download instructions for PCs and Macs here.

Step 5: Once these installation and configuration steps are complete, you can run the VPN client, and approve the VPN connection using the DUO app on your phone, as the screenshot instructions in the links above depict.  Once connected to VPN, you should be able to access shared file services.  If you only want shared file access you can stop here.

Step 6: Ensure that you have any department codes for printing (see section below entitled “Two types of printer/copiers”).

Step 7: Ensure you have the printer/copier drivers installed on your device and that you know the IP address of the printer.  If you need help, please call the helpdesk at 7777.

Step 8: You are ready to print

Two types of printer/copiers
  • Some copiers are administered by individual departments (e.g. science and music). Others are administered by the procurement office.  Please contact them for departmental billing codes, driver installation, and usage instructions.
  • Most printers can be reached by installing the appropriate printer driver and knowing the IP address of the printer. If you need help with setting up a printer on your device, please call the helpdesk at 7777.
