SALT LAKE CITY, June 15, 2022 – The Utah Board of Higher Education named Stacee McIff as interim president of Snow College, to take effect on July 1, 2022. McIff has served as vice president for technical education and workforce development at the college since 2021 and will lead Snow College during the Utah Board of Higher Education’s search for its next president.

“I am honored to fill the role of interim president and will work with our leadership team and stakeholders to fulfill our mission,” said Stacee McIff, vice president for technical education and workforce development. “Snow College’s award-winning success rate, commitment to quality, affordability, and excellent faculty and staff make it a special place beloved by thousands of students and alumni. With a dual role as the degree-granting institution and technical college for central Utah, Snow College plays a vital role in educating students, working with industry, partnering with community leaders, and providing opportunities for citizens in the region. I appreciate Commissioner Woolstenhulme and Utah Board of Higher Education members for their confidence and leadership during this transition.”

Current Snow College President Bradley J. Cook announced on May 12, 2022, that he had accepted the position of president at the American University of Bahrain and would step down as president of Snow in July 2022. In his new position, Cook will lead the first American-style co-educational university in the Kingdom of Bahrain. It is anticipated that a new president will be in place by the Spring of 2023, but the Board will take the necessary time to find the most qualified candidate.

“We are pleased to select Stacee McIff as interim president for Snow College,” said Lisa Michele Church, chair of the Utah Board of Higher Education. “Her extensive institutional knowledge gathered over the last 15 years and her commitment to the Snow College community made her an ideal candidate. The Board is confident she will successfully lead the college over the next several months.”

McIff has worked at Snow College for more than 15 years and served as interim in her current role before being appointed vice president for technical education and workforce development in 2021. She also served as Snow College Business Department chair from 2012-2020 and has held a faculty role at the college since 2006. McIff has been heavily involved in the community and has served on the Southern Utah University Alumni Advisory Committee, the Board of Directors of the New Horizons Crisis Center, as national board chair of FBLA-PBL, as president of the Sevier County Republican Women and more.

McIff holds a Master of Science in Business Information Systems from Utah State University and a bachelor’s degree in business education from Southern Utah University.

“We are thrilled with this appointment for Snow College’s interim president,” said Snow College Board of Trustees Chair Leslie Keisel. “Vice President McIff is a well-respected leader who is known for her ability to get things done; She is skilled in many areas and understands the importance of positive relationships and collaborative work. As a board, we are confident President McIff will be successful in this role as she continues the momentum we now have and finds increased opportunities to provide an accessible, affordable Snow College education to students of all circumstances."
