Snow College Employee Campaign FAQ

Employee Giving Club logo

Students from all over the world come to Snow College because the education they receive here opens doors to possibilities that would not have been available to them otherwise. This education strengthens their lives, their families, and their communities. Many of these students are able to afford college because of scholarships. Your employee campaign pledge can truly make a difference in the lives of our students.

Each donated dollar makes a difference!

Employee giving inspires others to contribute to Snow College. Corporations, foundations, and others, often consider the percentage of employee donors as an indication of engagement. Your participation can help us leverage support for much needed buildings, equipment, and programs.

Why should I give?
Our students are worth the investment! Every gift, no matter what the amount, is important. As a group, our employees can make a powerful difference.

What can my contribution actually provide for a student? (*2019/2020)
  • $3,836 will pay full tuition and fees for one student for one year.
  • $1,375 will pay room and board for one student for one semester.
  • $1,500 will pay the costs of books for one student for one year.
  • $208 will pay student fees for one student for one semester.

Can I specify where my contributions should go?
Absolutely! It’s up to you. You can support a scholarship fund or contribute to a department or program. We are strongly encouraging general scholarship support, but you may contribute to any fund you choose.

Can I designate my gift to more than one area?
Yes. On the pledge form (available here), you can specify the fund and the amount you wish to contribute. If the fund you choose is not included on the form, just write it in on the line next to “Specific Program/Project.” (If you choose to support more than one area, please specify the distribution of your gift."

What is the goal for this campaign?
Our financial goal for the employee campaign is not as important as your participation. We want participation from every employee. If each Snow College employee pledged just $4 per month through payroll deduction, we could help change the lives of 43 students and their posterity for generations to come. Together, we truly make a difference!

How much should I give to the campaign?
We hope you will take some time to consider making a meaningful gift to the employee campaign. Your individual and family circumstances should dictate the size of your donation. Please know that your pledge, in any amount, will truly help our students. Gifts to the campaign are tax-deductible for taxpayers who itimize their deductions.

What are my payment options?
You may contribute by check, credit card, bank transfer or payroll deduction. If you give through payroll deduction, the minimum is $2.00 per paycheck, and payments will begin in December. Credit card payments and bank transfers can be made online at snow.edu/give.  If you would like to consider a planned gift, or establish a new endowment or scholarship fund, please contact Janie Harris at 435-283-7062.

If I have already signed up for payroll deduction, will it automatically renew?

Yes. Your payroll deduction continues at the amount set to the funds selected until you authorize the Snow College Foundation (by written notice or via email to alumni@snow.edu) to make changes.

Are there fees associated with contributions to the employee campaign?
The Snow College Foundation does not charge gift taxes or overhead fees associated with scholarship funds, endowment funds, or planned gifts. That means 100 percent of your gift helps our students!
