February 9, 2016 Conference Call

Welcome 

Chair Alder called the meeting to order at 11:45 a.m. and thanked trustees for making time to join the conference call.

Purchase of Property 

Vice President Dettinger referenced the letter and appraisal, which was distributed to each trustee. He expressed the college’s desire to purchase a three-acre parcel, located at approximately 777 West 50 North in Richfield. He explained that the property would be used for parking and access for the Sevier Valley Center and shared the Sevier School District’s interest in a portion of the parcel. President Carlston said the school district would purchase the property and then sell it to the college. He said he wanted to keep the trustees informed, as well as the Building Board, and said this purchase needed Board of Regents’ approval. Trustee Christensen made a motion to approve the purchase, as outlined in the letter and supporting documents. Trustee McLean seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously.
