Clery Act

The Clery Act requires colleges and university to report campus crime data, support victims of violence, and publicly outline the policies and procedures they have put into place to improve campus safety.

Who was Jeanne Clery?

Jeanne Clery was a college student who was tragically raped and murdered in her dorm room at Lehigh University in 1986. Her death led to the creation of the Clery Act, a U.S. federal law passed in 1990. The law mandates that all colleges and universities participating in federal financial aid programs must disclose information about campus crime and security policies.

As a designated reporter, please use the Clery CSA Reporting Form to report crimes that you have become aware of, or have been reported to you.
