Jessica Wiley

Bassoon

Originally from Canada, Jessica Wiley has soloed with Utah Valley University Orchestra, Timpanogos Symphony Orchestra, Hawaii Performing Arts Symphony, University of Utah Philharmonia, and Utah Chamber Ensemble.

Wiley took second place in the Konrad Wolff-Ilse Bing Endowed Chamber Music Competition in Kansas and first place in the Fukes Chamber Competition in New York. She has served as principal bassoonist of the Timpanogos Symphony Orchestra and second bassoonist of Salt Lake Symphony.

Wiley holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Utah Valley University, a Master of Music in bassoon performance from the University of Utah, and a Performance Studies Certificate from Manhattan School of Music. Her principal teachers were Nicolasa Kuster, Brian Hicks, Lori Wike, and Frank Morelli.

Presently, Wiley is on the board of the Chamber Music Society of Salt Lake City, is Adjunct Professor of Bassoon at Snow College, and is a second year Doctor of Musical Arts candidate at the University of Utah where she studies under Jennifer Rhodes.
