Step 2: Filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

  • Go to studentaid.gov
  • Click on “FAFSA Form” on the top of the screen then choose “Complete the FAFSA Form” then choose the button that says, "Start New Form".
  • Enter the information requested by logging in with your FSA ID (studentaid.gov account).
  • When asked, make sure you request to have your FAFSA information sent to Snow College. Snow College's school code is 003679.
  • You should be asked to invite a contributor (parent or spouse).  The Contributor will receive an invitation from studentaid.gov and they will be able to log in with their FSA ID and enter their information separate from yours.
  • Please make sure that you and all contributors (spouse or parents) have their accounts created to sign and complete their portion of the FAFSA. The tax information will be pulled automatically from the IRS for the student and any contributors listed on the FAFSA.
  • At the end of the FAFSA application, be sure to click on "Submit My FAFSA" to process your application.
  • Print the confirmation page for your records. You should also get a confirmation email. Save this email.
  • Some students may be required to submit additional paperwork. If additional paperwork is required, you will be contacted by our office.
  • For more information, go to studentaid.gov .
