Note: the information above will make a student transfer-ready for a Visual Arts BS program at another school. Below are the base requirements to earn the AS in Visual Arts at Snow College:
  • AFA Thesis Exhibition: Working closely with faculty mentors, and the AFA community, students will develop a strong thesis for a solo exhibition. Students will work independently to create a body of new work, write a thoughtful thesis proposal, project and artist’s statements, install their exhibition, and host an opening reception. This solo exhibition will be part of the final assessment and is typically required during the final semester of study.
  • Thesis Presentation: Students will present their thesis work to faculty and fellow students in a public forum using a slide presentation that addresses their thesis project, project context, research and process, artistic philosophy, influences, and future plans. Following the presentation, students will field questions from faculty.
  • AFA Thesis Project Dossier: Students will compile and submit digital documentation of their Thesis Project, including images and documents, for the AFA Archive.
