Data Stewards have the right and responsibility to manage the data in their stewardship in accordance to all College policies, state and federal law, and compliance regulations.  Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining technology system upkeep
  • Allocating budget dollars for security purposes
  • Creating a data lifecycle plan
  • Ensuring employees receive training

IDENTITY FINDER

Identity Finder is a software that reduces the risk of improper data storage by discovering and securing sensitive information across computers owned by Snow College. It provides the ability to find and secure all types of sensitive information on your Windows or Mac systems.

MANAGING SENSITIVE DATA IN BOX (Hyper Text Link)

When sensitive data is brought into Box, the Information Security Office requires that additional security properties be applied to your cloud environment. Examples include:

  • Tag sensitive folders
  • Disable ‘Box Sync'
  • Manage access control
