Student employment opportunities give chances to improve existing skills, learn new
skills, and gain experience for future success. Below are the top three tips that
lead to a successful campus job search.
“Create a winning resume.” Nobody can ever underestimate how important it is to have
a well-written professional resume. Employers only spend a few seconds looking at
a resume so it is imperative that it makes an impression. Students can seek help by
visiting with an advisor in the career services office, sending a resume to services@snow.edu,
or checking out our online examples under ‘Student Resources’ at www.snow.edu/careerbadger.
“Apply early and often.” You have a job seeker account waiting for you. Upload a resume,
create your account, and get applying. Be open and go ahead and apply for at least
five jobs. Apply for jobs that you qualify for, not just dream jobs. The on-campus
jobs provide you with transferrable skills that will help you in your future careers.
“Be Persistent.” You can send an email to employers that share their contact information.
Let them know that you are qualified and interested in the job. Creating a job alert
in Career Badger or checking back frequently will help you to apply early for positions
and keep you updated on the newest postings.
To start applying, first go to snow.edu/handshake, login, and start searching for
jobs.
