Meet the Coaches

Jason Springer

Associate Head Coach of Esports

My interest in gaming started with an Atari 400 and a game called Dig Dug. Since then I have played just about every console out there from Sega to Nintendo, Xbox to PlayStation. Professionally my interest in gaming lies in the growth of the industry and the ways in which gaming has replaced other forms of entertainment. I earned my BSBA, MBA, and EdS at Appalachian State University. After working in industry for a short period of time, I began teaching Information Technology and Operations Management full-time at the university level. I have since transitioned into college administration and enjoy the opportunities our esports program present us at Snow College. I make my home in Ephraim with my wife Jessie, baby girl Lexi, and dog Piper.

Landon Peterson

Associate Head Coach of Esports

According to my mother, I have been playing video games since I was three years old, and I wanted to play them every moment I was awake. A few things have changed in the 31 years that elapsed, but my desire to interact with video games has not. I have conquered my childhood fear of Bowser, earned Bachelor and Master’s degrees, and found a career I love—helping students succeed in higher education. I am excited to be a part of Snow’s varsity esports program as it will provide students the opportunity to develop into the students, players and leaders they want to become. I reside in Ephraim with my wife Cassey and my son Oliver. When I am not advising, with my family or coaching, you will find me playing a video game or my ukulele.
