Exercise Science

The Exercise Science program provides students with the opportunity to explore adaptations and responses to human movement. It explores the relationship between fitness, nutrition, and health. Students who complete their degree in Exercise Science will be able to pursue careers in Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Recreation, Health and Fitness, and Physical Education Teaching, and other related areas.

Mission Statement

  1. To involve students in a high-quality educational experience that will prepare them for transfer into a 4-year Exercise Science Program.
  2. To give students hands-on, real-world, experiences through internships and interactive course work.
  3. To give students lifetime skills to help them live happier, healthier lives.

Exercise Science Learning Objectives

  1. Demonstrate the knowledge and skills associated with safely participating in physical activity.
  2. Demonstrate professionalism and integrity within their chosen health or fitness related area.
  3. Effectively communicate thoughts and ideas to peers, instructors and clients that will help them understand how to live healthier lives.
  4. Be able to think critically about information that has been presented and formulate conclusions based on that information.
  5. Develop hands-on skills related to evaluation and implementation of prescriptions related to health and fitness.
Students who complete the Exercise Science General Pathway and graduate from Snow College will be granted a fully articulated transfer into Utah Valley University's Exercise Science Program with 6 credits earned towards their Exercise Science Degree.
