Intermediate Algebra - Math 1010
Course Description:
The developmental math sequence (Math 0950, 0990, and 1010) at Snow College is designed
to prepare you for more rigorous college-level math courses (i.e. 1030 Quantitative
Literacy, 1040 Statistics, 1050 College Algebra, and 1080 Pre-Calculus). As you progress
through the sequence, you will hone your understanding and proficiency with basic
mathematics and algebra content. An emphasis will be placed on real-world applications
and problem solving.
Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) for Math 1010
To successfully complete this course, the student must show proficiency with:
- Functions (function notation, arithmetic, composition, domain and range)
- Solving and graphing linear inequalities in two variables
- Solving and graphing absolute value equations and inequalities
- Creating, solving, and applying 2x2 systems of linear equations
- Simplifying, graphing, and solving quadratic, radical, rational, absolute value, logarithmic,
and exponential expressions and equations
- Performing arithmetic with complex numbers
