The Snow College Dance program welcomes students of all backgrounds and abilities, including those who have never taken a dance class before. Course offerings include classes in beginning to advanced level ballet, contemporary modern, jazz, tap, improvisation, dance conditioning, and choreography. Note: the information above will make a student transfer-ready for a Geology BS program at another school. Below are the base requirements to earn the AS in Geology at Snow College:
  • Complete 60 credits, including the General Education requirements
  • Pass DANC 1010 Introduction to Dance 3 credits
  • Pass DANC 1100 Ballet I 2 credits
  • Pass DANC 1200 Modern Dance I 2 credits
  • Pass DANC 1500 Jazz Dance I 2 credits

While we recommend that dance students earn the Associate of Science (AS), an AA in Dance is also available. The Associate of Arts has the same requirements as the AS with the addition of a foreign language (complete a 1020-level language course). Please see your academic advisor for full details.

Students who major in dance have many career options. They become artistic directors, choreographers, dancers/performers, dance studio owners, dance teachers, dance therapists, dance photographer/videographers, fitness instructors, and more.

The Snow College Dance Department has two plus two transfer agreements with Southern Utah University, Utah Tech University, and Weber State University.
