TWIN FALLS, Ida.— NJCAA Region 18 softball awards were announced Wednesday night at the Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) Tournament. Player of the Year honors went to fourth-ranked CSI Golden Eagle shortstop Lea Hopson and Pitcher of the Year honors went to sixth-ranked SLCC sophomore MaCauley Flint for the second straight year. Nick Baumert of CSI was named Coach of the Year for the second straight season.

Five Snow College Badgers were named to All-SWAC Teams. Named to the First Team were: sophomore pitcher Katie Greenberg (2.45 ERA, 14 wins, 155 strike outs in 172 innings pitched); sophomore infielder Sara Park (.425 batting average, 57 hits in 39 games, 34 runs scored, 28 RBI); and freshman outfielder Ally McAfee (.341 batting average, 27 runs scored, 44 hits in 42 games, 10 stolen bases).

Two Snow Badgers were named to the All-SWAC Second Team: sophomore outfielder Kelsey Simmonds (.289 batting average, 32 runs scored, 43 hits in 41 games, 16 stolen bases) and freshman infielder Sydney Butler (.374 batting average, 38 RBI, 31 runs scored, 5 homeruns, 21 extra base hits, 49 hits in 43 games).
