SNOW NAMES BRACH SCHLUETER DEAN OF STUDENTS
AND ENROLLMENT SERVICES
EPHRAIM, Utah—February 6, 2006—Snow College
recently named Brach Schlueter dean of students and enrollment services.
Schlueter has been dean of enrollment and student financial services for
five years. He will continue in that capacity with the added responsibilities
of dean of students. Schlueter takes over for Lynn Schiffman who has taken
a faculty position in Snow’s business department. The new position
oversees the following areas: admissions, enrollment marketing, scholarships,
financial aid, residency, student life and student discipline.
Schlueter has been at Snow College for 20 years. He came to Snow as assistant
director of school relations and quickly became the director. Community relations
was later added to his area. Prior to being named a dean, Schlueter was director
of enrollment management.
Schlueter has a reputation as one of the finest presenters on the college
tour – an annual recruiting tour every fall when all of the higher
education institutions visit high schools throughout Utah. He is responsible
for several marketing innovations at Snow College that are now replicated
at many schools.
“Brach has a natural appeal to students and student leaders. He’s
met with nearly all of our student leaders in just one week and I’ve
heard nothing but positive feedback,” said Brad Winn, Snow’s
provost. “Our dean of students plays a central role in developing
the whole student – encouraging students to engage in a wide variety
of activities and to find ways of applying their classroom learning to
our campus and community.”
Schlueter created and led the Snow College student ambassadors for several
years – a team of Snow students charged with recruiting students
to the College. The ambassadors are one of several terrific leadership
opportunities for Snow students. Several Utah schools have created ambassador
teams patterned after Snow’s.
