Description:

Under the supervision of the Registrar and in cooperation with Academic departments, produces and maintains the schedules for courses each semester (including course fees, coding, room scheduling, etc.). Oversees the creation, updating, and maintenance of course and class data. Reviews course and class additions and changes submitted by divisions and departments. Ensures data is accurate and updated in a timely fashion. Understands the impact of changes to courses and classes based on semester, time of year, and type of change and relays those impacts. Makes informed updates and changes based on an understanding of relationships and impacts. Analyzes problems related to enrollment and grading and updates course and class data appropriately.

 

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree required
  • Snow College graduates strongly encouraged to apply
  • Experience with Banner preferred

  • Demonstrated experience in working well with the public and projecting a professional appearance and work ethic, excellent customer service;
  • Experience in Banner student system (preferred);
  • Problem-solving skills, an ability to multitask and seek solutions to everyday problems;
  • The ability to work independently toward a common goal AND collaborate for the common good of the institution as a whole; 
  • Excellent organizational, planning, written and oral communication skills, excellent phone skills required;
  • Computer literacy in Word, Excel, and data entry/management and be willing to learn new software and technical skills; and
  • Demonstrated an optimistic and positive outlook.
Major Responsibilities/Duties:
  • Responsible for the academic course schedule each semester and checking for accuracy and completeness of the total schedule before it goes live.  This includes scheduling of classes, assigning classrooms and maintaining and updating of any class changes, additions, and deletions.
  • Build and edit academic schedule in the Banner Student Information System, ensuring each course section contains correct meeting dates, days, times, instructors etc. Maintain section prerequisites and other registration restrictions required to control registration groups.
  • Monitor compliance with scheduling policy. Make room adjustments in cooperation with academic administrators to improve space utilization and support the needs of students and faculty.
  • Provide basic scheduling process training for department faculty and staff. Work with deans and department chairs to build approved class schedules each term.
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts and troubleshoot errors in course and section parameters as issues arise that impact registration.
  • Coordinates information between catalog and schedule of academic classes.
  • Responsible for the scheduling of building and classrooms for activities other than academic classes.
  • Assist students with registration and provide information on Snow College policy and procedure.
  • Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, and the general public, on the phone, electronically and in person.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail, phone calls, and e-mail.
  • Other duties relating to the Registrar's Office as assigned

Salary:

$12-$13 an hour DOE 


Work Hours:

Part-time, 20-29 hours per week
