Description:
Snow College seeks an experienced law enforcement officer to be a Sergeant in their
Public Safety Department. The Sergeant reports to the Chief of Public Safety and
performs patrol duties, supervises part time officers and security staff, participate
in trainings and prevention activities, investigates complaints and crimes, and works
with others to promote a safe and secure campus and college environment. This is
an 11 or 12-month position.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent and Associate Degree required. (Minimum of three
years of law enforcement experience, including management, can be used in lieu of
the Associate Degree).
- Must be a P.O.S.T. Certified Peace Officer and maintain P.O.S.T Certification as outlined
in the Public Safety Code 53-13-103.
- Minimum of two years related law enforcement work experience with preference given
to work experience in an education setting and/or community policing
- Ability to work well as a member of a collaborative team
Major Responsibilities/Duties:
- Performs routine campus and traffic patrol duties
- Enforces laws, ordinances, and the college Student Code of Conduct.
- Investigates complaints and crimes.
- Provides crime prevention training.
- Hires, trains and supervises part time campus security staff.
- Supervises part time officers on the Ephraim campus.
- Promotes a safe, secure campus and college community environment.
- Requires flexible shift work including day, evening, and weekend shifts, as well as
on-call availability.
Additional Information:
Salary:
$47,000-$54,000 DOE
Work Hours:
Full-time, Day, Evening, Weekend Shifts all possible
