Description:

The Snow College English as a Second Language Department is seeking a skillful instructor with experience in Academic Intensive English Programs. The successful candidate will be part of a small but engaging department of ESL professionals. Candidates should have a strong background in language teaching, developing online curriculum and connecting with international college students.

Qualifications:
  • Masters Degree in TESOL or a related field required;
  • 3 years’ experience in teaching ESL or EFL to adults, preferably in an Academic Intensive English Program (IEP) at the college level;
  • Evidence of professional activity in the TESOL field;
  • An understanding of current L2 teaching strategies and techniques;
  • Understanding of L2 theories;
  • Educational background in Linguistics;
  • Background in online teaching
  • Ability to work well with a team and understand L2 students;
  • Experience living abroad preferred.
Major Responsibilities/Duties:
  • Teach 15 credits of ESL (and TESL) per semester;
  • Assist in providing and sharing in cultural experiences;
  • Assist in developing on-line ESL courses;
  • Assume all obligations of full-time faculty to include: attendance at scheduled meetings, committee assignments, help with curriculum planning, scheduling, textbook adoptions and student advisement;
  • Summer work is required;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Salary: 

$46,000-$50,780 DOE
