Description:
This is a journey level job. An incumbent in this job is responsible for the operation
and maintenance of a complex heating and air conditioning system in a large building
or group of buildings. This job is subject to a rotating on call status.
Qualifications:
Must have a general knowledge of:

High and low pressure steam, electric and other types of boilers
-
Heating and Air Conditioning equipment operation and maintenance
-
Automated Controls and VFD’s preferred
-
Fuel Gas certification Preferred
-
Plumbing techniques and methodology
-
HVAC applicable laws, rules, regulations and/or policies and procedures

Evacuates and recharges air conditioning systems
General skills must include:
- Welding / Soldering / Brazing
- Electrical knowledge of high/ low voltage systems
- Installation and repair of automated controls and VFD’s
HVAC experience preferred
NATE certification preferred
Major Responsibilities/Duties:
- Operates and maintains high and low pressure steam, electric and other types of boilers
and water heating systems
- Schedules and conducts inspections and/or investigations of HVAC system problems
- Teaches others the principles and techniques used in the specific service or trade,
adherence to industry and/or safety standards and maintenance of related equipment,
tools and/or supplies
- Installation, commissioning, and calibration of all natural gas fired equipment
- Maintains accurate records and logs
- Welds, Solders, brazes, grinds, and/or fabricates various materials
- Work extended hours if needed
- Ability to work a rotating on call shift during winter months
- Read and interpret maps, plats, charts, plans, blueprints and/or electrical schematics
- Arrange, coordinate, or schedule time and details
- Performs related plumbing, mechanical, pipe fitting, etc., duties
- Perform other job related duties as assigned
