Description:
Reporting to the Director of Institutional Advancement and Government Relations, the
Assistant Director of Advancement manages the daily operations of the Advancement
Office, including: annual giving; the alumni program; fundraising events; and donor
recognition. The Assistant Director of Advancement implements initiatives to increase
donor support among alumni, employees, and designated constituents. This position
tracks annual gifts, and identifies, solicits, and provides stewardship for select
donors
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university. Master’s Degree preferred.
- At least three years of progressive experience, preferably within nonprofit fundraising
administration and/or higher education.
- Expertise with fundraising software, preferably Talisma.
- High proficiency with computers, social media, data management, and email.
- Excellent verbal and written communication required.
- Excellent organizational skills with acute attention to detail.
- Experience in planning and implementing events, preferably donor/fundraising related
events.
- Ability to articulate the Snow College mission with enthusiasm as a visible representative
of the College.
Major Responsibilities/Duties:
- Directs all aspects of alumni giving, including goal setting, budgeting, timelines,
and action steps to include measurable outcomes, solicitation programs, and strategies,
and coordinated solicitation efforts to increase giving and participation percentages.
- Organizes fundraising special events and other donor cultivation and stewardship activities.
Will interact with donors at all levels.
- Supports donor database administration. Produces reports, reconciles giving data with
the Business Office, and manages related database tasks.
- Creates and manages prospect lists for direct mail, personal solicitation, and stewardship
efforts.
- Supervises student assistants.
- Coordinates recognition and stewardship efforts for individual, foundation, corporate,
and historic donors.
- Ensures ethical and appropriate financial administration of contributed income including
maintenance of the database, software, and donor and prospect records.
- Prepares packets for visits and works with the Advancement staff to prepare specialized
mailings (information and donor solicitations) for individuals, foundations, and corporations.
- Provides staff support for the Alumni Association, including board and committee meeting
scheduling and setup. May also be called upon to assist the Director of Institutional
Advancement with Foundation Board activities.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the Director of Institutional Advancement.
Additional Information:
- This position requires some evening and weekend work, as circumstances demand. Some
travel within the state is also required and the applicant must have a valid driver’s
license.
Salary:
$43,000-$48,000 DOE
Work Hours:
- Full-time
- M-F 8 am – 5 pm
