Under the supervision of the director of the Counseling & Wellness Center, the incumbent will perform office management duties of the Counseling & Wellness office to include client scheduling, phone and front desk reception, completion of budget and financial reports and other duties as assigned. The majority of the time working will be at the front desk of the counseling center, scheduling and greeting the public. The incumbent will also conduct prevention and outreach programs appropriate for various wellness issues including but not limited to suicide, substance abuse, sexual assault, and mental health awareness. The contract is 10-months annually with a benefits package. The two-month break will be coordinated with and approved by the supervisor and is expected to occur in June and July annually.
• Must have an Associate degree from an accredited college or university with emphasis
in psychology, social work or a related human service field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Must have a valid Utah driver’s license and be able to prepare for and pass state
risk drivers training and van operation.
• Preference for a minimum of 12 months of successful professional experience in
a prevention related field, including the ability to develop and maintain good working
relationships with clients, staff and other departments and outside agencies.
• Ability to create reports and assessments both orally and in writing.
• Special skills/abilities/competencies: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint:
• Good communication and customer service skills,
• Detail oriented with good organizational skills and time management skills
• Able to work independently as well as being a Team player.
• Must be flexible to work some weekends including two-weekend training retreats
per academic year.
• Coordinate calendars for mental health professionals, scheduling therapy appointments, monitoring the waiting list and in cooperation with the counselors efficiently maximize the use of the counselors’ schedules.
• Schedule various in-house and external meetings and assist office employees with
forms, approvals, and other related documentation and maintains a documentation system
of critical functions and objectives of the center.
• Produce expense reports for department and process invoices for payment.
• Participates in staff meetings, and other meetings as directed, including possible
out-of-town sessions that relate to outreach and prevention.
• Under the direction of the center director, provides outreach and prevention education
to students on wellness issues including but not limited to smoking cessation, suicide,
alcohol and substance abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault, educational, and life
skills.
• Assist with special projects/reports and performs other duties as assigned.
$31,104
9 a.m. to 5 p.m. M-F. Some evening, weekends and holidays on occasion.
