Description:

Snow College is seeking a full-time teaching instructor for the English and Philosophy department for one year.

Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in English required (Ph.D. degree welcome).
  • Higher education teaching experience in composition required.
  • Higher education experience teaching philosophy or technical/professional, developmental, or digital media writing welcome.
  • Higher education experience teaching lower-division literature or creative writing classes is also welcome.
  • Ability to teach using AAC&U high-impact practices.
  • Ability to instruct students from diverse ethnic, economic, educational, and other backgrounds.
  • Ability and/or willingness to teach courses through a variety of delivery modes, including online and broadcast settings.
Major Responsibilities/Duties:
  • Teach fall and spring semesters.
  • Provide instruction in first- and second-year composition (three courses per semester) and lower-division literature, philosophy, or creative writing classes (one course per semester).
  • Assume responsibilities as a full-time faculty member, including departmental and curriculum planning/assessment, professional and scholarly development, institutional and community service, and student recruitment and advisement.

  • Snow College is located in Ephraim, a rural town in central Utah, approximately 120 miles south of Salt Lake City. There are multiple, year-round, outdoor recreational opportunities in nearby mountains and desert lands.

Salary: 

$45,000-$47,500 DOE

Work Hours:
  • Full-time
  • Nine-month contract
