Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s or higher preferred
- At least two years’ proven successful office experience
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and telephone skills
- Excellent English, grammar, spelling and punctuation skills
- Excellent initiative and ability to anticipate needs of supervisors
- Experience calming office visitors
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, email, Internet
- Experience with Banner preferred
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn mail merge
- Willingness and ability to learn other software programs, as needed for the position
- Experience maintaining Websites
- Ability to work with little or no supervision
Other Qualifications and Explanations:
- Must have the ability to maintain a regular schedule of 28-29 hours/week. While the
schedule is flexible, the weekly commitment of hours is required.
- Success as a Human Resources Specialist depends largely on communication skills and

Major Responsibilities/Duties:
- Assists with training and employee orientation sessions/ inputs new employee data
and distributes in report form to various entities on campus at start of new academic
year or as requested.
- Prepares position announcements for distribution and advertisement; receives applications
and answers inquiries concerning position openings and application procedures; submits
information to search committees when position closes; processes recommendation for
appointment and contract at close of search.
- Prepares purchase orders for advertising purposes; verifies and authorizes payment
to publishers.
- Maintains Job Email—respond to messages requesting information on open positions and
inquires on progress of search.
- Assists with current employees data on Banner for updated directory information; compiles
data for employees and departments in directory form.
- Receives and routes telephone calls and office visitors.
- Maintains Copy and Fax Machines, orders paper and toner, and computers semi-annual
and annual billings.
- Implements and maintains application flow records as required for EEO purposes.
- Handles incoming and outgoing mail
- Supervises student employees.
- Responsible for background checks.
- Maintain the compensation committee reports.
- Other duties as assigned
Salary:
$13 - $15/hour DOE
Work Hours:
Part-time/about 29 hours/week; 12 months
