Description:
Snow College seeks dynamic individuals to participate in the education of students
in the areas for chemistry and engineering. The perfect individual will possess an
ability to inspire students while maintaining educational and industry standards.
Ideally this person will be student centered, teach with best practices, and ensure
that students reach their academic goals. They will also be dedicated to the institution
and work in a group setting as a friendly colleague.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in chemical engineering or closely related field preferred. M.S. degree candidates
will also be considered.
- Candidate must have the ability to teach introductory through general chemistry courses
and engineering courses such thermodynamics, stengths & materials.
- They must possess a student oriented focus with an ability to inspire thebest efforts
of students in the classroom, lab, and practicum.
- They must be proficient in written, oral, presentation, and English speaking.
- Candidates with experience in curriculum development and design; successful experience
working with colleagues and in teams; skills to be an excellent recruiter, advisor,
mentor, and connector; or experience working with students from underrepresented populations
will be given preference.
- The ability to teach GIS courses is also a preferred skill.
Major Responsibilities/Duties:
- Faculty are expected to teach fifteen credit equivalencies per semester and assist
in student mentoring, recruiting, and placement. They will be teach undergraduate
courses in chemistry engineering, physical science, mathematics, and other areas as
needed. They may teach special topic courses in areas of personal interest.
- Faculty will participate in student recruitment and programs marketing as well as
advise and mentor chemistry, allied health, and engineering students.
- Faculty will also participate in helping the enginerring and chemistry departments
improve.
