Description:

This is a full time, tenure track position in the Horne School of Music at Snow College. The successful applicant for this position will provide leadership and instruction in the music technology and music business areas of the institution’s Bachelor of Music with Emphasis in Commercial Music degree. The Horne School of Music seeks a motivated and collaborative individual with experience in both the music industry and education.

Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in music and music industry experience preferred, Bachelors degree with significant music industry experience required. Preference given to candidates with strong musicianship skills
  • Fluency in various software platforms including, Pro Tools, Logic, Digital Performer, Cubase, Ableton Live, Sibelius, Finale, Final Cut Pro, and Adobe Premier. Preference given to candidates with software certifications in the platforms listed above.
  • Substantive experience in live sound production
  • Familiarity and experience with recording studio operations
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Leadership skills necessary to manage and advocate for the music technology and business areas of the music department.
Major Responsibilities/Duties:
  • Provide leadership for the music technology and business areas of the music department
  • Teach courses in Music Technology, Audio Recording Theory and Techniques, Advanced Audio Production and Studio Operations, Audio Visual Post Production, Electronic Music, and Music Business
  • Co-Direct the Commercial Music Ensemble
  • Train and manage student employees who provide technical support of music department productions
  • Train and manage student employees who monitor music department computer labs, and recording studios
  • Assist in the production of department wide collaborative performance.
  • Serve on committees as assigned
Additional Information:

This is a nine-month tenure track position. Salary will be based upon education and experience at time of hire. Snow College offers an excellent benefits package.

Salary: 

$44-50,000.00 Based upon education and experience at time of hire
