Description:

Snow College invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Sound Design and Technology. This is a tenure track appointment commencing August 2019. MA degree required, MFA preferred with emphasis in Sound Design and Technology, university or college teaching experience is preferred.

Qualifications:
  • MA degree required; MFA with emphasis in Sound Design and Technology preferred
  • Expertise and understanding of microphone techniques, recording, mixing, sound reinforcement, sound system setup, audio and video production
  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours when needed
  • Commitment to stay current and continually improve knowledge and understanding of discipline
  • Ability to communicate and work interpersonally with others
Major Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Provide sound support for Dance Productions
  • Provide sound support for Music Productions
  • Provide sound support for Theatre Productions
  • Provide sound support for Radio and Tv as needed
  • Provide sound related expertise for video animations as needed
  • Teach course in Communications as assigned
  • Teach course in Music as assigned
  • Teach course in Theatre as assigned
  • Student supervision
  • Teach inter-disciplinary courses
 
Salary: 

$50,280-$50,780 per contract year

Work Hours:

Full-time
