Snow College Scholarship Tips

Do you need help applying for Snow College scholarships? We are here to help! See below for our scholarship check list and some general information to help you apply. And remember to contact the scholarship office at any time.

Are you applying for private or departmental awards? If so, see below:

  • Click on the appropriate category of scholarship to which you want to apply. These are found on the scholarship home page. These scholarship applications will be submitted online.
  • Make sure that you can demonstrate that you meet the scholarship criteria. If you are applying for a departmental award, you must be majoring in that particular area. If you are applying for private awards, please make sure that you meet the donor’s criteria.
  • In your scholarship essay or personal statements, you must demonstrate to the selection committee that you are a worthy scholarship recipient. Your essay or statement should include specifics relating to the scholarship you are applying for. Your statement needs to be professional, with proper grammar and writing structure. It is always smart to proofread before submitting.
  • Submit your application(s) and all required documents before the March 1st deadline.

Are you applying for the Diversity scholarship? If so, see below:

  • Click on the Diversity scholarship on the home page to print out the application.
  • Make sure that you can demonstrate that you meet the scholarship criteria.
  • In your application, make sure that you have included the letter of introduction, the financial statement, high school transcripts with ACT or SAT scores, two letters of recommendation, and the resume (optional).
  • If you are a returning or a transfer student, please include your college transcripts.
  • Submit your application and the required documents before the May 1st deadline (the deadline for all other scholarships is March 1st).

Are you applying for performance-based or leadership awards?

  • Click on the appropriate category of scholarship to which you want to apply. These are found on the scholarship home page.
  • Contact the department/person/office for information regarding applications and deadlines.
  • Plan to provide a portfolio, come to campus for an interview or an audition, etc.

Are you applying for our Returning/Transfer Academic scholarships?

  • For returning students, you must have completed at least 12 credits here at Snow to quality. For transfer students, you must have completed at least 20 credits at a regionally credited college or university.
  • Click on Returning/Transfer Academic category on the home page. This application must be submitted online.
  • Your cumulative grade-point average must be a minimum of a 3.5 or higher based on a 4.0 scale.
  • If you are a transfer student, make sure you send your transcripts to Snow. Without these, Snow will be unable to process a transfer academic award.
  • Submit your application by March 1st.

Are you going to be an incoming resident/nonresident freshman student interested in academic scholarships?

  • Remember that there is not an application for these.
  • You must be officially admitted to Snow College by the March 1st deadline to be considered.
  • Online admission application must be completed and submitted by March 1st.
  • Transcripts must be sent to Snow by March 1st.
  • ACT/SAT scores must be sent to Snow by March 1st.

Are you a nonresident student unsure of what you may qualify for?

  • Snow College offers the WUE as well as a Nonresident Tuition Waiver. If you are an incoming freshman student, you will automatically be considered for one of these as long as you are officially admitted to Snow by the March 1st deadline.
  • If you are a returning/transfer student, please complete the Returning/Transfer Academic application on the home page by March 1st for consideration.
  • Other scholarship options are available as well such as private, departmental, diversity, leadership and performance based.

Are you applying for the Alumni Legacy waiver?

  • You must be from outside the state of Utah to be considered.
  • One of your parents or grandparents must have graduated from Snow with an Associate degree.
  • Click on the appropriate category of scholarship to which you want to apply. This is found on the scholarship home page. This application must be submitted online.
  • Before submitting the application, make sure that all information has been completed.
  • There is not a deadline for this scholarship award.
