The event focused on leadership development and college readiness
May 13, 2026 – Ephraim, UT – Snow College recently welcomed approximately 800 students and advisors from across Utah for a Latinos in Action (LIA) Leadership Conference held on the Ephraim campus on May 7, 2026. The event brought students together for a day focused on leadership development, college and career readiness, cultural celebration, and community engagement.
Throughout the conference, students participated in classes, presentations, and performances designed to build confidence, leadership skills, and a sense of belonging. Activities highlighted the core mission of Latinos in Action: empowering students to lead and strengthen their communities through education, service, and leadership development.
The conference featured keynote speaker Jorge Fierro, who shared his personal story and encouraged students to pursue their goals, embrace their potential, and recognize the value of their personal experiences.
“We are so grateful for the opportunity to host these students on campus and expose them to the many positive things happening at Snow College,” said Fernando Montano, from the College’s Student Connection Center. “We hope students leave knowing that Snow College is a welcoming place and a great option for them as they consider their future education.”
Latinos in Action currently serves thousands of students across multiple states and focuses on college and career readiness, service, leadership, and leveraging personal and cultural assets to create positive change.
