Brad Taggart Named 2026 Higher Educator of the Year

Utah Art Education Association recognizes outstanding contributions to art education

February 12, 2026 – Ephraim, UT – Snow College proudly announces that Brad Taggart has been named the 2026 Higher Educator of the Year by the Utah Art Education Association (UAEA), a prestigious honor recognizing exceptional leadership and impact in art education across the state.

This award celebrates educators whose dedication, innovation, and commitment significantly advance the field of art education. Taggart was selected by his peers in recognition of his meaningful contributions, mentorship, and ongoing efforts to strengthen arts learning in Utah.

Snow College Provost Michael Austin said, "We are all excited about this award, but we are not surprised. Professor Taggart has been a core part of Snow's art program for many years, and this award confirms what we have always known: Brad is a wonderful artist and an exceptional teacher who works every day to give our students an amazing experience at Snow College."

As part of this honor, Taggart will also be nominated by the Utah Art Education Association for recognition at the Pacific Region level through the National Art Education Association this fall. Over the coming months, he will work with UAEA leadership to complete the nomination process.
