Snow College Removes Barriers to Admissions

Students are no longer required to complete the ACT or SAT test

April 6, 2020 – Ephraim, UT – Snow College announced today a change to admission procedures. Students will no longer be required to complete the ACT or SAT standardized tests as part of the application process.

This is one of many steps Snow College is taking to eliminate barriers and provide more opportunities for students seeking a college degree. Last month, college officials announced the college’s move to advisor-generated class schedules, and the response has been positive. “Students no longer have to worry about being overwhelmed with course selection. After completing a survey, our process matches students’ interests and field of study, ensures an on-track schedule for graduation, and still gives students the option to modify personal preferences,” said Teri Clawson, Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management.

President Bradley J. Cook said, “The Utah State Board of Regents has asked all institutions to provide accessible, affordable, and quality education offerings, and Snow College is passionately exploring all possibilities to do that for all students.” He added that Snow College is known for taking students where they are and helping them become better students. “We are committed to our traditional mission of high-touch, face-to-face education and increased offerings of technical and online education. Eliminating this piece of the application process will hopefully open more doors for more students,” Cook said.
