Snow College team wins $10,000 at UEC

Degraw CustomsDeGraw Custom, a high-quality livestock feeder manufacturing business started by Snow College students Kyle DeGraw and Cody Ruby, won $10,000 at the Utah Entrepreneur Challenge held at the University of Utah on March 30. They competed against more than 150 collegiate teams from around the state to take home the $5,000 3rd place prize. Additionally, DeGraw Custom won $3,000 for the Stoel Rives Best Technology Award and $2,000 for the Actium Partners Bootstrap Award.

“I feel like what’s brought us so far is we have a legit business that we’re starting. I think that’s what’s helped us more than anything,” co-founder Cody Ruby said after the team’s win. “You can’t just come up with ideas, it’s got to be doable.”

DeGraw Custom previously won the $1,000 grand prize at the Snow College Opportunity Quest competition held in November 2018 after competing against more than 30 teams. That competition was managed by the Snow College Entrepreneurship Center and the Business Department.

We offer our congratulations to Kyle and Cody and can’t wait to see where they go from here!
