Course Description:
Whether to aim is to create digital paintings as finished works of art or as a development tool for traditional media, a digital mastery will inform all aspects of your studio practice. Taught in a cutting edge digital lab with Wacom tablets, artists will explore the digital tools and techniques used by fine artists, illustrators, and entertainment industry professionals, to realize their artistic vision. With current technology digital artwork no longer needs to look “digital.” The digital look is now an artistic choice. We will use high-resolution images of works in natural media to analyze their unique characteristics to re-create each one digitally. Participants will also investigate the characteristics unique to painting with digital media.
