Course Description:
The Art of Stop Motion Animation! Learn one of cinema’s earliest special effects techniques in this hands-on workshop, where participants learn the principles of animation while bringing their imagination to life by animating Paper, Clay, Humans, Toys, and various inanimate objects through the creation of a short stop motion.
Biography:
Evan Curtis is an award-winning independent animator and filmmaker, whose films have earned several awards and over 50 festival screenings worldwide. He has also interned at Blue Sky Studios on Horton Hears a Who! and on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim. He received a BFA in Film from Purchase College in New York and an MFA in Animation from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Evan grew up in the Adirondacks where many defining adventures shaped his imagination. The primary focus of his work is on self-reflexive personal stories and the environments that influence them.
