I have a very young family, so what I love to do most, is spend time with my husband, Stephen, and our three little girls (ages 4, 3, and 10 months). I also enjoy attending concerts, spending time outdoors, cooking, watching movies, and traveling.
I learned a lot about my career path as a student at Snow College. I discovered my love for the Family and Counsumer Science/CTE field and was greatly influenced by many wonderful professors who helped me to see my potential and make goals for my career. I gained a great deal of confidence from these associations and found some great role models. As a teacher, I always hoped to have the kind of influence on my students as my Snow College proffessors had on me.
I grew up at Snow College (literally and figuratively). I have very fond memories of learning and playing at the Little Badgers Preschool, being in the Homecoming parade, swimming at the AC, attending campus activities, working on campus as a student, and learning and growing as I enjoyed my first college experience!
Upon graduating from Snow, I continued my education at BYU where I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics Education. I graduated in 2005 and immediately began teaching at Centennial Middle School in Provo, UT. I taught FACS Exploration (cooking classes), and CTE (Career and Technical Education) for 10 years. I loved my experience working with 7th and 8th graders, and learned a lot from them. A few months ago, I began considering an opportunity to advance my career and looked to Snow College to do that! I am in the process of completing my Master's Degree and hope to be able to give back to Snow College.
I would advise current Snow College students to work hard AND have fun, and do so without excuses or regrets. Your time at Snow College will fly by. Make the most of it!
