September 28--In addition to reading pages 47-55 in the 9/11 Commission Report, read
the following articles:
August 31--In addition to reading the poem listed on syllabus, look at the following
pages from the collections of the American Folklife Center, which is part of the Library
of Congress. As you look at all of these, think of what conclusions you can draw about
the immediate responses to the 9/11 attacks.
August 29--"Rumors of War". Read as many of the 9/11 rumors
as you can. You may also want to understand the website more.
August 29--Read at least two oral histories collected by the New York Times. Be thinking about similarities and differences in
what experiences are described.
