Speech Lab

The Speech Communication Lab is open and ready to assist students in polishing their presentations! The Lab is located on the second floor of the Lucy Philips Building (Room 204).

We have fantastic tutors who are trained to assist students in the following areas:

  • building confidence
  • selecting speech topics
  • organizing speech content (e.g., main points/subpoints, transitions)
  • delivering competently (i.e., reducing those awkward delivery quirks!)y
  • finding and implementing research and evidence
  • creating effective visual aids (e.g., slideshow presentations)

Instructors: Our tutors are also available to assist you on individual presentation projects! (e.g., preparing class materials, making copies, flyers, handouts, poster design)

The Speech Communication Lab is equipped to assist students via various formats (e.g., face-to-face, Zoom). Tutoring sessions are scheduled in 15-minute intervals, and students are welcome to attend as many times as they would like throughout the semester. Appointments are preferred, but “walk-ins” are welcome upon availability.

Students can make appointments online, in person in room 204, by phone 435-283-7578 or by scanning the following QR codes.
