QualificationsMaster’s Degree (required) or a Ph.D (preferred) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Education, Chemical Engineering, Natural Resources or a chemistry related field.
The ideal candidate should have a background or strong interest in natural resources.
Ability to teach foundation level courses in chemistry.
Familiarity with online/distance teaching technology, as well as, willingness and ability to teach in those settings.
DutiesDevelop and deliver a rigorous, student-centered chemistry curriculum both in the classroom setting as well as laboratory.
Teaching chemistry courses, working with the natural resources program, oversee chemistry laboratories and safety, recruiting students, advising, and serving the department, college, and community.
Teaching assignments may include evening, weekend and summer courses with formats that include direct instruction, distance education, field based learning, and online instruction.
The candidate should poses a forward thinking and visionary approach to education and growing programs.
They should be willing to explore teaching modalities that are outside the normal framework which lead to increased learning in students.
Additional InformationThis is a full-time, tenure-track position.
Salary$43,000 - $48,000 annually
